LINCOLN, NE — Obviously, we in the media are completely blameless. We’re not the ones whose job it is to parse out coach speak and ask tough, legitimate questions. Nope. If a coach says it, it has to be true.
So, whatever hype there was around Fred Hoiberg and the 2019 Nebraska basketball team, it wasn’t us. We weren’t asking the questions and writing the articles. We’re simply innocent bystanders.
I mean, just look at these way over-hypey quotes from Hoiberg:
“Cam Mack is fast.”
“Yeah, um, what’s his name, that one guy… he shoots pretty good.”
“Italy was fun.”
See! See! It’s him, overhyping this team. Definitely NOT US. Not our job. And, you morons for believing it? Pfft. Why would you read and believe what we write? Silly fans.
